Recently, I had an opportunity to visit and participate in a day of crafting with some of the other members of the SoCal Lady Bloggers. I love getting together with friends, and if it involves crafting, I am in heaven. We all met at a little shop called The Makery.
The Makery is in a courtyard of shops located about 10 minutes away from Disneyland in Anaheim, California.
The Makery and the shop next door, A Little Known Shop share side by side spaces and when I walked in, they had tables with lots of cute craft supplies all around.
I felt like I was in day camp with my friends with lots of inspiration all around. What an awesome feeling to have all those supplies just waiting to be used.
There were several mini-workshops to make different items. With the direction of the Academy of Handmade, I first learned how to make a cool gift bag from newspapers.
I loved turning newspapers into gift bags. Talk about a frugal gift wrap!
The next craft I did involved these wooden beads.
With a little paint and some Mod Podge,
Isn’t it a cute necklace?
I had a wonderful time and was so grateful to have received a free visit to the workshop and a complimentary lunch. We had some awesome sponsors that supplied an a delicious meal.
Don’t those wraps and salads from Green Tomato Grill look amazing? They were so good that I went back for seconds! Special thanks to Turning Leaf and Popchips too!
I really enjoyed my relaxing day of crafting. Be sure to sign up for The Makery’s mailing list. They have craft workshops for adults and children. You can check out The Makery and A Little Known Shop on Facebook here and here.
Be sure to check it them if you are in the area! I might see you there.
Do you craft? What is your favorite craft activity?
