Have you set your goals for 2016? Even if you do not make resolutions, (I don't), you probably have some goals for yourself.
Today I am sharing three goal setting apps that I recently tested and found very helpful if you are easily distracted or are just looking for a little helpful support from your device.
The great thing about these apps? They are on your phone, you know, that device you look at a dozen times a day?
Goal Setting Apps
There are quite a few goal setting apps available for your smart phone. Compared to a few years ago, the options and features of these apps can be quite helpful for those of us that need gentle reminders to focus and complete tasks associated with our defined goals.
Strides: Goals & Habits Tracker + SMART Goal Setting
I am a very visual person and the illustration goals that come with Strides: Goals and Habits Tracker allow you to set alerts to help you achieve your SMART goals. The optional notifications remind you to to make progress based on the frequency you set for each. I love the clean look of this app and how incredibly easy this was to use.
The colorful progress bar helps you see the progress you have made. I made really simple goals for my user test because I input the same goals on all three apps. You can export the data and see progress reports by goals too!
Balanced Goals and Habits
The Balanced Goals and Habits app is another simple and user-friendly app that also offers reminders to fulfill tasks. Tasks left undone are moved to the top of the queue as a gentle reminder to approach the task.
Activities are assigned emoji-like icons to make the app fun for those that like visual inspiration. With simple interactions, like swiping left and right to skip a goal or mark it as complete, I found this app also fun to use with its many available icons.
Success Wizard - Life Planner
The Success Wizard - Life Planner with best-selling author and productivity expert, Brian Tracy is a helpful goal definition and management system that is really more like having a personal coach .
This app is seriously helpful if you need assistance formulating and developing your goals. The Reality Check area asks you critical and thought-provoking questions to help you define what you are trying to achieve and map your path to success.
There is also an area to examine and rate the various parts of your life such as wealth, finance and personal growth. There are features to help you identify stumbling blocks and break your goals into shot term and mid-term and even daily targets. This is the most through of the three apps I tried and is in a league of its own.
I could go on and on about these apps as they were all really good, in my opinion. Each of these offered daily reminders, list development and daily action plans. Also a plus, all of these apps are free, but offer a pro version at a minimal cost. I did not test any of the paid versions.
All of the apps above offer a different experience and each offer advantages, depending on what kind of support and reminders would work best in your life. If you need help focusing on goals, I suggest you try these out and just know that you are going to get the best support with notifications (just remember these notifications are actually helping you get somewhere). Talk about great use of your smart phone!
Have you tried any of these or similar apps? I would love to hear your thoughts.
