Time always seems to go by so quickly lately. Summer is my favorite season and I love to slow things down a bit and just enjoy it.
Each day, I take a some time to detach from all of the noise and electronics and I park myself in my backyard to just take in and enjoy all the beauty that is present in the outdoors. When I go in my backyard, I take a break from all things electronic. I do this nearly every day and find that it is so relaxing and refreshing to contemplate and reflect. I like to keep a gratitude journal and also just brainstorm on new ways to celebrate the season with family and friends. I jot things in my notepad, and it feels great to write.
This time of year, my roses are blooming in the backyard and the peacefulness of it all it gives me a chance to reflect on the good things that life brings. It also gives me a chance to plan for future celebrations with family and friends. It's beautiful outside and I am enjoying the warmth with a large glass of Fruity Iced Tea.
I first made the Fruity Iced Tea a few years ago after coming back from a farmers market that had really inexpensive strawberries. I make my Fruity Iced Tea with Bigelow Tea and while you can make it with any of their flavors, I prefer the orange and spices that abound in Constant Comment®.
My Mom and I have been drinking Constant Comment for years. I remember it used to come in a little tin box. Did you know that it was developed many years ago in a NYC by Ruth Campbell Bigelow? She wanted to create a new tea, so she blended black tea with orange rind and added sweet spices. This eventually became known as “Constant Comment”® tea, and has expanded to a worldwide market with more than 130 varieties of flavored, green, organic, herbal, decaffeinated and iced teas.
I found my tea at Walmart in the tea section and I usually buy a few boxes.
The tea always tastes fresh and delicious!
I think it is because Bigelow tea bags come in special foil pouches to protect the tea from moisture and aromas. I love that their teas are so packable. I often take them when I travel so that I can enjoy my tea on the go.
Try this iced tea recipe on your next warm day. It is really refreshing and tastes extra special! You do not need to add sugar because it is sweetened by the ginger ale. If you try it, please let me know!
