Simple Quiche

This is a simple quiche recipe that is perfect for a holiday morning.  You can make it ahead of time, which I often do. In this example I used bacon, but you can add vegetables, sausage or ham if you like.   You can even switch up the cheese and add monterey jack or jalepeno cheese.  I love recipes where I can change up the ingredients very simply.

Simple Quiche

1 frozen pie crust, thawed

6 eggs

1 cup cheddar cheese

1/2 teaspoon nutmeg

1/2 cup milk

6 strips of bacon, cooked and chopped

Mix eggs, milk and nutmeg in a bowl.

dot the top with some butter slivers,

Place quiche on a cookie sheet and cook 20 – 30 minutes until top is golden and puffed.

Simple Quiche

It is a family favorite and is great for breakfast and brunches.  To make ahead, you can prepare completely and reheat the next day or prepare the crust and eggs separately, then pour egg mixture and bake in the morning.

Do you have a favorite type of quiche?

  1. We love making quiches for holiday meals, in fact my family always makes crab quiche (a few varieties paired with different cheese and veggies) for christmas dinner. We prefer to make them crustless to keep it a tiny bit lighter.
